I stopped to Use Amazon Capsule
Although I am a member of Hubpages for last 4 years, I started writing here regularly in September 2011. I activated Hubpages Ad Program, ebay and Amazon. As I found that the response rate of Amazon is very low, I decided to not to use Amazon capsule. You should know that even if a visitor clicks the Amazon ads, you can not make money unless the visitor buy the product.
Instead of the Amazon capsule, I started to use ebay capsule twice on every page. ebay pays for clicks, no matter the visitor bids on the item or not.
When I first wrote this Hub about 30% of my earnings were from ebay, but now the ebay earnings have crossed all other sources of earnings at Hubpages.
Placing of ebay Capsules
If you visit my Hubs, you will find that I have placed first ebay capsule at the top right of the article, and second capsule at the end of the article.
Placing of the capsules is an important thing. I have observed that my placing of ebay capsule is perfect as it attracts the visitors. I generally select 4 or 5 items in each capsule, so the total links to ebay products are 8 to 10. While activating a capsule, I put a perfect key word into the ebay search box, which is related to the subject of the Hub.

When to Use Amazon Capsule?
However, you should use Amazon capsule in your Hub if the Hub is product related. You can earn with Amazon capsule on product related Hubs. But here too, you should not avoid ebay capsule. 1 Amazon Capsule + 1 ebay Capsule is better solution.
If you know better method.......
I think that my method is working better than the Hubbers who have low earnings. So I suggest all of them to try the method I use.
There may be other methods too, which are better than that of mine, but I do not know about them. I request if anyone is making more amount with less page views, please share the information, so the other Hubbers could try his method.

1. Deactivate Amazon capsules, if they are not performing.
2. Use ebay capsules twice
3. Use perfect and related keyword in the ebay capsule
4. Product related Hubs are better for Amazon capsules. 1 Amazon + 1 ebay are better at such Hubs.

Interesting. It took me a while to get approved with eBay and I have only been using it for a few months. I have earned less than a dollar so far, but I will take your advice under consideration.

How do you apply for ebay adv. program? I have account but cannot find link for it.
Well, just go to My Account>Earnings>Settings, then click on Configure ebay Program button, and do what they ask.
ebay does seem more profitable for a newbie. still I don't expect no one to buy something from ebay...I guess you'll just get the clicks. Amazon on the other side can do really sell in the right moment with the right article. I guess its a matter of odds.
what about google adsense,doest it good?
adsense works better with older hubs since at a start those ads don't really connect to the hub's theme. but yeah! works too! you earn the click only though.
You're right about Amazon. In 2 years I haven't earned anything from using that capsule. I think I'll try adding ebay. Can't hurt! Thanks for the valuable info.
hmmm, earn nothing from Amazon? did you applied for their ad program? I guess you ain't getting money if do not register in their affiliate program.
I am beginning to find out that amazon capsule is not working as well as shay. I may continue for maybe a few months more. If there is no change then I will delete them.

Yes Claudia, you should do it. However you can activate Amazon capsule again when you have a lot of visitors.

I guess I'd better start using E-Bay capsules. I'd never done it before, since I wasn't an affiliate. But I guess with the HubPages Ad program we don't need to be affiliates of ebay. Is that right? I'be never been very good at monetizing hubs. Your ideas are certainly worth trying. Who can argue with success?

Thanks for the tips about ebay capsules. I didn't know they pay per click, as opposed to Amazon capsules, which in most cases, are essentially worthless for revenue. That's why I've deleted my share of those. So, I may give ebay capsules a try. Later!
