Updated on December 25, 2013

Visiting other cities and countries is an exiting thing. We mus travel wherever possible, but before it we should remember that there are many places to visit in our own city. But most of the people traveling world over do not know about many places in their own city or town, which they should visit.

There are many benefits of visiting places in your own city, instead of distant places. First benefit is that you save your time of traveling. Second benefit is that you do not have to spend a large amount on travel, food and staying.

Do not forget to carry a camera, a map, water bag and other necessary things with you while visiting the places I have suggested here.

While visiting unknown places, it will be better if your friend or a family member is with you.

The River Near Your City

Human being always liked to settle near a river because it fulfills their requirement of water supply. That is why most of the villages, towns and cities are settled on the banks of rivers.

Watching a river is a joyful thing. It is watching a part of the nature. So you should watch the river nearby your city. Some times, a river passes through the city. Watching a river passing through city is also interesting. If yours is a village or small city, you should enjoy swimming in the river. If their are ferry boats in the river, you should travel from one bank to other bank of the river. If there is a bridge, watch the view of the river from it.

In rainy seasons, it is very exciting to watch the flood.
